We are seeking a high-performing Managing Attorney who pairs strong legal and leadership skills with grounded confidence and a human-centered approach —and who is ready to step into a key role on our executive team.

You’ll guide a talented team of attorneys and paralegals while maintaining a focused, high-quality legal practice of your own.

Role, Schedule & Structure

Leadership + Casework: Full-time role based in our San Antonio office Executive Team Membership: Serve on the firm’s executive leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and firmwide direction Team Oversight: Lead, mentor, and support a team of attorneys Client Engagement: Maintain your own caseload, conduct consultations, and continue closing confidently Strategy & Development: Participate in firmwide planning, process improvement, and growth initiatives Flexibility: Occasional evenings/weekends for networking, client events, or training

Your work will span leadership, mentorship, case strategy, client communication, business development, and fostering a high-trust, high-performance team.

You understand how to guide multiple attorneys, navigate competing deadlines, and maintain calm leadership when the caseload is heavy or client emotions are high.

2. Expertise & Excellence in Practice

Your legal skill will still be front and center. You’ll maintain a strong personal caseload and continue to be a top performer in client consultations and courtroom representation. You:

  • Are deeply competent in Estate Planning & Probate (Guardianship certification or eligibility required)
  • Draft and review documents with precision and clarity
  • Confidently represent clients in hearings, mediations, and complex matters
  • Communicate legal concepts in a way that clients feel safe, informed, and empowered
  • Consistently close new client engagements with warmth and confidence

Board Certification or active pursuit of it is a significant advantage.

3. Team Development & Collaboration

This role is as much about people as it is about law. You’ll help shape the growth, stability, and culture of the entire legal team. You:

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Estate Planning & Probate
  • Experience managing attorneys and/or legal staff
  • Certification or ability to obtain certification for Guardianship matters
  • Board Certified or actively pursuing (strongly preferred)
  • Technologically fluent; comfortable working within goals, metrics, and case-management systems
