Staff Acountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting and financial operations. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial records, compliance with company policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- A/R and A/P
- Journal Entry
- General Ledger reconciliation
- Bank reconciliation
- Advanced/Expert level Excel Skills
- Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting procedures
- At least 5yr of accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inter-company knowledge and experience
- State Tax knowledge and/or experience
- NetSuite experience (accounting software)
- Some financial reporting experience
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
